Add New Users in WordPress allows you to add users with different roles and capabilities to your site. If Once created, a user will be able to log in to your site with a valid username and password and changes your site.
WordPress has six Pre-Defined roles:
Each role is allowed to perform a set of tasks which we call as Capabilities.WordPress user roles include site Super Admin ( In case of Multisite ) Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor and Subscriber. These user roles control the site according to the capabilities. For example, If the User with the role Author can publish, edit, or delete their own posts, but they can’t access anything created by other users.
Creating Users in WordPress:
- First click on Add New sub menu under the Users menu on the WordPress Sidebar menu.
- Enter the username, email address, first name, last name, website, and password for the user.
- After this, choose the subscriber role for the user.
To see all the users in your WordPress, Click on All Users.
If you need to see a basic overview of WordPress user roles, click on Help tab at the top of the screen, so you’ll be able to decide which level of access to grant to your new user.
