First of all, Jetpack is very easy to use, there is no need to set up. I like Jetpack as it allows you to let visitors subscribe to your blog and new comments and whenever to publish a new post, It automatically sends the Notification to the jetpack subscribers via emails. This is the biggest reason bloggers like jetpack in comparison to other plugins.
One of the big con of Jetpack Subscription is that we can’t send a custom email to particular subscriber. If you want to do a marketing campaign to your subscribers, you need to export jetpack subscribers and import into a newsletter service like Newsletter Sign-Up or MailChimp. I recommend you read my Article How to Move Jetpack Subscribers to MailChimp
